The descendants "Reunion" after 74 years (draft)

Friday 29 December 2017 is a date to be scored because, after 74 years since 1943, the descendants of the Rhoades, Carter and Bonato families meet again.

When I planned my last visit to London on New Year's Eve, there was something that made some of the constellations line up, for the first time Stephen Hewson happened to be with me in London after 36 times I have been :-)

This gave me even more conviction in our search for the descendants of the soldier George Carter and with the copy of the letter in his hand written that Wembley address, as if it were the treasure map, we returned to the 19th of Alperton Lane

in an attempt to meet Mrs. Edwards to get some more clues about where to find other tracks of George Carter.

We ware very lucky... and when Stephen knocks on the door, the lady appears. After a bit of conversation we can find a track ... a club in West Dryton, there may be traces of George Carter's family.

Let's go back to the only exit of the Alperton metro and find it blocked by a strange accident, a truck has overturned a bit of car in the square, however, this tells us that we have to take a moment to rest in a pub :-)

Cleared the entrance to the subway, we leave for Uxbridge where when we arrive with another stroke of luck we get on a bus that takes just near West Drytonal first shot ... I got off the bus now the sunset leaves the place at dusk ...

we follow the track almost in the dark of that Club (Thanks a lot Google Maps :-) We enter and communicate with the people who serve at that time discovering that more than one of those present was a friend of George Carter and that his son (Tim) is the vice president of the Club.

Time to drink a beer, Tim Carter arrives, and almost incredulously tries to understand what they can tell him about his father an English boy and an Italian "elderly". A few details were enough and Tim immediately realized that we had different information about it ...

Tim Carter wow how strange when two blokes walk into my local and tell me they know all about my dad during the war, turns out Stevens grandad and my dad escaped from a prisoner of war camp together and Gians dad hid them from the germans for over 3 months. WELL i didnt know that. thank you gents for filling in some of the blanks.

Stephen Hewson It was great to finally meet you and some of your family Tim. My grandad would be so pleased as he always said they were great friends who helped each other through some very tough situations. I look forward to meeting up again - perhaps with the Italian film director who has done lots of research on this and similar accounts.

Giantonio Gian Bonato It was a long time ago when my father told me... I have a dream to meet George Carter before leaving this life...
In 2003 We come in England together and we have meet Albert Rhoades and his family, for my father was last one time, that's a pity we ware
at Stansted, just few miles from Wembley zone and we didn't go there because I didn't know that on the George Carter letter there is his address ...
Yesterday after many years his dream become real for me.
Thank you to my friends Stephen HewsonGiovanni Cavattoni and now the new one friend Tim Carter .

Putroppo ci ho messo troppo a scoprire di avere l'indirizzo a casa mia 😣
Meglio tardi che mai...

My father, Stephen Hewson' grandfather and Tim Carter' father would be very happy to meet today, unfortunatelly I didn't know for too much time we had the George Carter' address in our house....
In any case better lather than never...
